Installing Joomla! in Localhost

Once the web server package installed properly and can run well too so we will proceed to the next process is to install joomla on localhost web server we have put earlier. Before the intallation proccess then, you should upload the file extraction Joomla! to the webserver and first create a database in phpMyAdmin.  To install joomla on localhost please follow these steps:

  • Creating a Database via phpMyAdmin or point your browser to http://localhost phpmyadmin
  • Extract the files Joomla! 1.5.11 to the folder C: \ wamp \ www \ website
  • After the extract process is complete open a browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or other) and then type http://localhost/website, then press Enter. Keep in mind, the writing not as a standard website. It depends on the name of the folder that was created  
  • Stage 2 - Pre Instalations Chek. By default, Joomla! check needs to be met. If no problems, can proceed with the click next.
  • Stage 3 - Approval of License Agreement. At this stage, only provide information about licenses and regulations that must be filled in using Joomla! Open Source. Press the Next button to continue.
  • Stage 4 - Database. Enter Host, Username, Password, and Database name (check back when creating the database before), if it is satisfied press the Next button.
  • Stage 5 - Configure FTP (File Transfer Protocol). FTP is a protocol that is devoted to transfer files remotely (long distance). If we understand about the use of FTP, FTP configuration we can do here. Nothing needs to be configured when installing on home computer (localhost)
  • Stage 6 - Main Configuration. At this stage we provide information about the site name and information about the user. Then enter your email address and enter the admin password so you can easily remember. We recommend that you enable the facility to install the sample data for the website is not empty so not confusing at a later stage. If you forget to enable this feature, your website will be blank. Next, click the Next button.
  • Tahap 7 – Finish. Prior to Joomla can be used, there is one last step that must be done. You must delete the folder in the folder joomla instalation
  • Once deleted please refresh URL http://localhost/website, and now Joomla! ready for use.
